Serena & Carrie invite you to explore this question over five days of study, discussion, movement, writing, & creativity.  Your experience includes:

  • 4 nights of shared accommodations at a restored 19th century home, located on a 900-acre nature preserve and organic farm in the Shenandoah Valley
  • daily yoga and meditation practices, led by Serena
  • History discussions, ancestry research, and creative activities to record your reflections, led by Carrie
  • Recommended readings and podcasts
  • Walks in the woods
  • Plenty of free time
  • Farm-to-table meals   (4 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 4 dinners)
  • Field Trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington, DC, and lunch at the museum's restaurant: Sweet Home Cafe

Cost for all of the above: $639*

You are responsible for transportation to and from Purcellville, VA (about a 6 hour drive from Boone, NC); and carpooling to a metro station outside of Washington, D.C.  (about an hour drive)
